520			_aIICA’s Medium Term Plan (MTP) 2014-2018 builds on the initiatives developed in its MTP 2010-2014 and develops a new approach including the technical cooperation (TC) model and instruments for providing TC services to its member states. It renews the Institute’s commitment to strengthen its technical capabilities in order to address the challenges facing the agricultural and rural sector that were identified in both the current MTP and the Strategic Plan (SP) 2010-2020, as well as the various mandates and commitments made in the last two meetings of the IABA. The MTP was formulated through a dialogue involving the Institute’s different units, a broad process of consultation with the member countries, and a review of the Institute’s technical cooperation (TC) model and the instruments for intervention and actions. The mandates and the consultative approach obligate the Institute and its personnel to redouble their efforts in order to execute, together with the member countries and other strategic partners, actions that will address those challenges effectively, utilizing all the opportunities available, and devising innovative solutions to achieve results of excellence that will have an impact and positive transformations in the agricultural sector and the rural areas.
520			_aEl Plan de Mediano Plazo (PMP) 2014-2018 del IICA se basa en las iniciativas desarrolladas en su PMP 2010-2014 y desarrolla un nuevo enfoque que incluye el modelo de cooperación técnica (CT) y los instrumentos para brindar servicios de CT a sus Estados Miembros. Renueva el compromiso del Instituto de fortalecer sus capacidades técnicas para enfrentar los desafíos del sector agropecuario y rural identificados tanto en el PMP vigente como en el Plan Estratégico (PE) 2010-2020, así como los diversos mandatos y compromisos adquiridos en las dos últimas reuniones de la JIA. El PMP se formuló a través de un diálogo entre las diferentes unidades del Instituto, un amplio proceso de consulta con los países miembros y una revisión del modelo de cooperación técnica (CT) del Instituto y de los instrumentos de intervención y acción. Los mandatos y el enfoque consultivo obligan al Instituto y a su personal a redoblar esfuerzos para ejecutar, junto con los países miembros y otros socios estratégicos, acciones que aborden esos desafíos de manera efectiva, aprovechando todas las oportunidades disponibles y proponiendo soluciones innovadoras a los mismos. lograr resultados de excelencia que tengan impacto y transformaciones positivas en el sector agropecuario y las zonas rurales.
