520			_aLa Segunda Reunión del Comité Técnico Regional de Sanidad Vegetal de los países que conforman el Area del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA), se efectuó en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia, entre el 2 y el 7 de noviembre de 1981. Los países participantes (Area 3 del IICA) fueron: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela. Se informa sobre las siguientes actividades desarrolladas en esta reunión: avance de proyectos y campañas de control fitosanitarias, con énfasis en el control biológico; estudios epidemiológicos; manejo y uso de plaguicidas; y componentes del sistema de Manejo Integrado de Plagas (MIP) y sus resultados. Presenta además los logros en la organización institucional de los servicios de sanidad vegetal, así como las recomendaciones sobre las responsabilidades y participación de la universidad y de la empresa privada en los programas fitosanitarios, y la forma como el IICA puede contribuir a hacer efectiva esta cooperación.
