520			_aSaint Lucia IICAs Delegation contributed to update the plant and animal health regulations as part of the modernization of the national sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) system through an extensive consultative process with public and private sector stakeholders under the 11th European Development Fund Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Project. In addition, It supported the local and regional apiculture industry through capacity building and events such as a virtual session on organic control of varroa mite, the local celebration of International Pollinators Day, and the hosting of the Regional Congress of Beekeepers. Also, it assisted local MSMEs in improving their trade planning and negotiations and supported the development of an integrated and regenerative model for compost and biofertilizer production, mushroom production, and value-addition to cocoa. Other achievements included the revitalization of the Saint Lucia Agricultural Forum for Youth and the establishment of The Mushroom Collective, an association for promoting participation and investment in mushroom production. IICA also provided training and institutional strengthening for the operationalizing of a green business using ecosystem-based adaptation principles.
520			_aLa Delegación del IICA de Santa Lucía contribuyó a actualizar los reglamentos de sanidad vegetal y animal como parte de la modernización del sistema sanitario y fitosanitario (MSF) nacional a través de un amplio proceso de consulta con actores del sector público y privado en el marco del Proyecto de Medidas Sanitarias y Fitosanitarias del 11º Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo . Además, apoyó a la industria apícola local y regional a través del desarrollo de capacidades y eventos como una sesión virtual sobre el control orgánico del ácaro varroa, la celebración local del Día Internacional de los Polinizadores y la realización del Congreso Regional de Apicultores. Además, ayudó a las MIPYMES locales a mejorar su planificación y negociaciones comerciales y apoyó el desarrollo de un modelo integrado y regenerativo para la producción de compost y biofertilizantes, la producción de hongos y la adición de valor al cacao. Otros logros incluyeron la revitalización del Foro Agrícola para Jóvenes de Santa Lucía y el establecimiento de The Mushroom Collective, una asociación para promover la participación y la inversión en la producción de hongos. El IICA también brindó capacitación y fortalecimiento institucional para la operacionalización de un negocio verde con principios de adaptación basados en ecosistemas.
