520 _aThe main activities carried out by the Institute in the Bahamas are identified, during the period from 2010 to 2017, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as animal nutrition, beekeeping, food security, aquaponics, sustainable development, innovation and technology. Likewise, work was done to improve meat processing, health and food safety, through the Codex Alimentarius, in the management of farms and in the production chains of vegetables, such as cassava and sweet potato, honey, ruminants, goats and sheep. Finally, it relied on regulations, project management, soil and water management, handicraft trade and the inclusion of women producers.
520 _aSe identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Bahamas, durante el período comprendido desde el año 2010 al 2017, con respecto a las necesidades e intereses del país, fortaleciendo en temas como nutrición animal, apicultura, seguridad alimentaria, acuaponía, desarrollo sostenible, innovación y tecnología. Asimismo, se trabajó en mejorar el procesamiento de las carnes, sanidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, por medio del Codex Alimentarius, en el manejo de las fincas y en las cadenas de producción de hortalizas, como la yuca y camote, miel, rumiantes, caprinos y ovejas. Finalmente, se apoyó en normativas, gestión de proyectos, en la gestión de suelo y agua, comercio de artesanías y en la inclusión de las mujeres productoras.
