520			_aSe identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Guatemala durante el 2021, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo en temas de tecnología, cultivo de granos básicos, aguacate, limón, macadamia, plátano, cacao, melocotón, chile cahabonero, flora apícola, banano y café. Asimismo. se trabajo en impulsar la sostenibilidad, la bioeconomía, los bionegocios, agricultura familiar, la sanidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, la resiliencia ante el cambio climático, por medio del manejo de la sequía y la escasez hídrica y la producción de semillas resistentes a la sequía. Además, se mejoró el manejo de las fincas, el manejo de parcelas, la ganadería bovina, las importaciones, así como el equipo de laboratorio y la infraestructura del ICTA. Finalmente, se laboro en el control de plagas, como la roya del café, así como la utilización de fertilizantes, fungicidas y trampas.
