El tercer capítulo intenta extraer algunas conclusiones preliminares, retos y oportunidades que podrían contribuir a la discusión en torno a la definición de una probable agenda para el siglo XXI. The document, presents an executive summary and contains three chapters. The first chapter is intended to identify the main factors that determine its importance and to highlight that agriculture and the rural milieu constitute a strategic issue in the present and future development of America. The second chapter is intended to analyze its recent evolution and identify some of the main changes and limitations. The third chapter tries to draw some preliminary conclusions, challenges and opportunities that could contribute to the discussion around the definition of a probable agenda for the 21st century.
