No fertilizers or pesticides were applied. Highest yield were produced by the earliest sowing (May 23) and the lowest from the last 2 sowings (in June). The black cv. Negro Huasteco, BAC-112 and Porrillo Sintético and the red cv. BAC-789 gave the highest yields
