El IICA, como organismo especializado en agricultura del Sistema Interamericano que colabora con las instituciones de sus países miembros, en especial con los ministerios de agricultura, en la formulación de políticas públicas, la elaboración e implementación de estrategias sectoriales y la provisión de información oportuna, ha preparado esta nota técnica como insumo para las delegaciones que participarán en la 18.a Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre la Convención Marco de Cambio Climático (COP 18) .

As the specialized agency of the Inter- American System for agriculture, IICA collaborates with the institutions of its member countries, especially the ministries of agriculture, in the design of public policies, the elaboration and implementation of sectoral
strategies, and the provision of timely information.
As part of those efforts, it has prepared this technical note as input for the delegations that will be taking part in the 18th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 18).
