The main activities carried out by the Institute in the Bahamas during 2017 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as beekeeping, agro-ecotourism, rural development, financing, plant health, resilience against climate change and health and food safety, through the Codex Alimentarius. Likewise, technical assistance and training were provided to young people for their inclusion in agriculture, as well as to fishermen. Finally, the production of turmeric, phytosanitary processes, the use of geospatial technology, national and international cooperation and the use of climate modified organisms were strengthened.

Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en las Bahamas durante el 2017, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo en temas como apicultura, agroecoturismo, desarrollo rural, financiamiento, sanidad vegetal, resiliencia contra el cambio climático y sanidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, por medio del Codex Alimentarius. Asimismo, se brindo asistencia técnica y capacitaciones a jóvenes para su inclusión en la agricultura, así como a pescadores. Finalmente, se fortaleció la producción de cúrcuma, los procesos fitosanitarios, el empleo de tecnología geoespacial, la cooperación nacional e internacional y el empleo de organismos climáticamente modificados.
