Este informe resume los resultados del análisis realizado por el Grupo que se seleccionó para llevar a cabo el trabajo. Este Grupo deliberadamente evitó realizar recomendaciones detalladas y específicas en aquellos campos que considera son de competencia exclusiva de la Dirección General del IICA. Por esta razón, se espera que el análisis y los lineamientos incluidos en el informe facilitarán las decisiones que deban tomarse y las que, en un análisis final, sean las mejores para el Instituto y de esta forma reorientar las estrategias y políticas del mismo para adaptarlo a las nuevas necesidades y a un ambiente cambiante. Principales Resultados: a) es necesario que el Instituto emprenda actividades generales, orientadas a identificar áreas prioritarias de desarrollo agrícola y bienestar rural el ALC, b) necesidad de trabajar conjuntamente con otros organismos intergubernamentales regionales y hemisféricos y agrupaciones económicas-políticas, c) el IICA debe ejercer el liderazgo técnico y, d) existen problemas administrativos significativos que se derivan del crecimiento, distancia, diversidad, multiplicidad e incertidumbre.

This report summarizes the results of the analysis carried out by the Group that was selected to carry out the work. This Group deliberately avoided making detailed and specific recommendations in those fields that it considers to be the exclusive competence of the General Directorate of IICA.
