Los Ministros y Secretarios de Agricultura del Hemisferio, en el marco del Proceso Ministerial Agricultura y Vida Rural en las Américas, han adoptado decisiones de gran alcance para el desarrollo sostenible de la agricultura y el medio rural. El Plan AGRO 2003- 2015, adoptado en Panamá 2003, es el principal Acuerdo Ministerial Hemisférico (AMH) que ha sido actualizado desde entonces mediante los AMH de Guayaquil 2005, Guatemala 2007 y, más recientemente, Jamaica 2009. Camino a la Quinta Reunión Ministerial, Jamaica 2009, para apoyar al Delegado Ministerial de Jamaica en su calidad de Presidente del GRICA 2009 (Foro Hemisférico de Delegados Ministeriales), la Secretaría elaboró y distribuyó a los Delegados Ministeriales un formato para su uso en la preparación del Informe Nacional 2009 Avances y Desafíos en la implementación del Acuerdo Ministerial Hemisférico Guatemala 2007 para la Agricultura y la Vida Rural en las Américas. países en la implementación del AMH Guatemala 2007 ordenados por país y cada uno de los 12 propósitos de la AGRO-Matriz

The Ministers and Secretaries of Agriculture of the Hemisphere, within the framework of the Ministerial Process Agriculture and Rural Life in the Americas, have adopted far-reaching decisions for the sustainable development of agriculture and the rural milieu. The AGRO 2003-2015 Plan, adopted in Panama 2003, is the main Hemispheric Ministerial Agreement (HMA) that has been updated since then through the HMAs of Guayaquil 2005, Guatemala 2007 and, more recently, Jamaica 2009. On the way to the Fifth Ministerial Meeting , Jamaica 2009, to support the Ministerial Delegate of Jamaica in his capacity as Chair of the GRICA 2009 (Hemispheric Forum of Ministerial Delegates), the Secretariat prepared and distributed to the Ministerial Delegates a format for use in the preparation of the 2009 National Report Progress and Challenges in the implementation of the 2007 Guatemala Hemispheric Ministerial Agreement for Agriculture and Rural Life in the Americas. This Compendium offers what corresponds to the Progress reported by 29
countries in the implementation of the HMA Guatemala 2007 ordered by country and each one of the 12 purposes of the AGRO-Matrix
