También se presenta una guía metodológica para la identificación de oportunidades de exportación en mercados potenciales. Se refiere al mercado norteamericano para frutas tropicales y en él se presentan sugerencias para un acceso exitoso al mismo. Se aborda el tema de las coinversiones para la exportación, identificándose con esto los distintos tipos y la naturaleza de arreglos existentes en la actualidad. Resumen: The document is presented as a monograph in three essays, which present; on the opportunities in North America for the export of agroindustrial products from LAC with an emphasis on products: flavors or fragrances, dehydrated fruits, processed foods; sandwiches; edible sauces; fruit juices and soft drinks; dairy products and specialty beverages and ingredients for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. A methodological guide is also presented for the identification of export opportunities in potential markets. It refers to the North American market for tropical fruits and it presents suggestions for a successful access to it. The issue of joint ventures for export is addressed, identifying with this the different types and nature of existing arrangements today.Resumen: The document refers that the project entitled Joint ventures and trade in the American agroindustrial firms: Notes for an strategy is a joint effort of the IICA, Agriculture Canada (AGCAN) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The project has as one of its objectives to increase knowledge in LAC countries about the characteristics and pareticularities of North American markets, as a means to expand export opportunities and to strengthen trade relations. The document consists of three essays. The first deals with export opportunities for LAC agro-industrial products to North America. Such products are: flavors or fragances, dried fruits, processed foods, savoury snacks, seasoning sauces, fruit juices and fruit-flavored drinks, dairy products, special beverages, and ingredients for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. A helpful guide for identifying export opportunities in high-growth-potential markets is included. The second essay deals specifically with the evolution of the tropical fruit market in North America and presents key criteria to asist in penetrating this market. The third paper deals with the topic of trade joint ventures. It identifies characteristics of the different kinds of such arrangements that exist today, as well as establishing the conditions and requirements for achieving successful joint ventures. (MIBA)
