En el marco del Plan de Acción Conjunta para la Reactivación Agropecuaria de América Latina y el Caribe (PLANALC) desarrollado por el IICA, se analiza el caso de Haití. Se presenta un análisis de la problemática rural y campesina de ese país, destacando su magnitud. Se señalan vías modestas pero concretas para potencializar el desarrollo de la economía campesina de Haití. Propone una serie de lineamientos estratégicos y acciones para la reactivación y desarrollo de la agricultura haitiana, pero enmarcadas y ejercidas a nivel nacional fundamentalmente. Los ámbitos de intervención sugeridos incluyen aspectos del desarrollo económico; investigación; desarrollo agrícola y social; desarrollo de recursos humanos y de información. Se proponen acciones en el área de las comunicaciones para el desarrollo rural y de la cooperación internacional en la generación y transferencia de tecnología.

Within the framework of the Joint Plan of Action for the Reactivation of Agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean (PLANALC) developed by IICA, the case of Haiti is analyzed. An analysis of the rural and peasant problems of that country is presented, highlighting its magnitude. Modest but concrete ways are indicated to potentiate the development of the peasant economy of Haiti. It proposes a series of strategic guidelines and actions for the reactivation and development of Haitian agriculture, but mainly framed and exercised at the national level. Suggested areas of intervention include aspects of economic development; investigation; agricultural and social development; development of human resources and information. Actions are proposed in the area of communications for rural development and international cooperation in the generation and transfer of technology. (ACH)
