Provide an analysis of the critical challenges, barriers, and limitations to achieving climate resilience in the agri-food sector in the Caribbean region. Limitations in knowledge management and communication throughout the agri-food value chain are identified, along with the lack of policies, financing, social inclusion mechanisms, and other key factors that hinder the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices. Additionally, the importance of traditional ecological knowledge and agricultural practices for transitioning towards climate-resilient farming is emphasized. Furthermore, it highlights the insufficiency of existing financing mechanisms for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the agricultural sector, and the need to reduce financial risks for small-scale farmers. As a final result, some recommendations are identified to develop climate-sensitive and resilient agriculture in the Caribbean region.

Proporciona un análisis de los desafíos críticos, las barreras y las limitaciones para lograr la resiliencia climática en el sector agroalimentario en la región del Caribe. Se identifican las limitaciones en la gestión del conocimiento y la comunicación a lo largo de la cadena de valor agroalimentaria, la falta de políticas, financiamiento, mecanismos de inclusión social y otros factores clave que impiden la adopción de prácticas agrícolas climáticamente inteligentes. Además, se destaca la importancia del conocimiento ecológico tradicional y las prácticas agrícolas para la transición hacia la agricultura climáticamente resiliente. Asimismo, señala la insuficiencia de los mecanismos de financiamiento existentes para la adaptación y mitigación del cambio climático en el sector agrícola y la necesidad de reducir los riesgos financieros para los pequeños agricultores. Como resultado final se identifican algunas recomendaciones para desarrollar una agricultura sensible al clima y resiliente en la región del Caribe.
