Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en México durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, contribuyendo en la actividad hortofrutícola en mercados locales e internacionales, en sostenibilidad ambiental, reduciendo el uso de plaguicidas, en la seguridad hídrica, desarrollo territorial y en la inocuidad y calidad agroalimentaria, salvaguardando el status fitozoosanitario del país. Asimismo, se apoyo a los pequeños productores, por medio de la simplificación de documentación normativa, de cooperación técnica en comunicación social y de alianzas público-privadas en temas de economía, sistemas productivos, agroemprendimiento y agricultura. Sin dejar de lado, la implementación de la constitución legal de la Mesa Redonda de la Ganadería Sustentable de México y el fortalecimiento a la agrocadena de los maíces nativos, identificando la necesidad de diseñar una política pública que permita rescatar las variedades de maíz existentes, brindando un valor agregado. Finalmente, se vigiló el ingreso de la fiebre porcina africana, buscando el control de la enfermedad, así como la erradicación de la mosca del Mediterráneo.

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Mexico during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, contributing to the fruit and vegetable activity in local and international markets, in environmental sustainability, reducing the use of pesticides, in safety water, territorial development and agrifood safety and quality, safeguarding the phytozoosanitary status of the country. Likewise, support was given to small producers, through the simplification of normative documentation, technical cooperation in social communication and public-private alliances in matters of economy, productive systems, agro-entrepreneurship and agriculture. Without neglecting, the implementation of the legal constitution of the Round Table for Sustainable Livestock in Mexico and the strengthening of the native corn agro-chain, identifying the need to design a public policy that allows the rescue of existing corn varieties, giving them an added value. Finally, the entry of African swine fever was monitored, seeking to control the disease, as well as the eradication of the Mediterranean fly.
