(Costa Rica), 2009 Resumen: Este estudio pretendió explorar el efecto de la composición y estructura del hábitat y del agropaisaje sobre dos grupos taxonómicos, murciélagos y escarabajos coprófagos con capacidades de dispersión distintas. El estudio se realizó en un agropaisaje ganadero en la cuenca del Río Bul Bul, en el Municipio de Matiguás, Nicaragua. Para mantener biodiversidad de escarabajos y murciélagos en el agropaisaje se debe aumentar el porcentaje de bosque secundario, bosque ribereño y disminuir el aislamiento dentro de estos a través de aumentar la cobertura arbórea sea a través de cercas vivas o árboles en potreros.Resumen: This study aimed to explore the effect of landscape and habitat composition and structure on two different taxonomic groups (bats and dung beetles) with different movement abilities. The study was conducted in the agricultural and cattle landscape of the Bul Bul River watershed, in the Matiguas Municipality, Nicaragua. In order to maintain dung beetle and bat diversity in this agricultural and cattle landscape, the percentage of secondary and riparian forests must be increased and isolation between them diminished, increasing tree cover through live fences or pastures with high tree cover.
