Tipo de material: ArtículoArtículoEditor: Maracay (Venezuela) 1982Descripción: p. 247-278.Otro título: Economics of different management strategies for a beef production system on grazing in the Cerrado.Tema(s): GANADO DE CARNE | PRODUCCION DE CARNE | MODELOS DE SIMULACION | BRASILResumen: Because of the complexity of the system and the difficulties of obtaining the necessary information from the field, the system was simulated using a computer model nobel. The processes of verification and validation of the model are described. The various management strategies and economic variables considered, together with the impact of different levels of each of them on the economics of a 4000 ha unit, are shown. Subsequently, two experiments were carried out to examine in more detail the effect on the system of different proportions of the farm sown to introduced pastures, the age at sale of steers, the point in the cycle of beef prices at the start of the development programme, and the rate of inflation. A third experiment was designed to examine the effects on profit due to variations in crop yields and beef prices
