Se presenta la visión tecnopolítica que recoge los mensajes más relevantes presentados en los discursos oficiales durante la sesión inaugural de la VIII JIA. Los temas sobre el papel de la agricultura en el proceso de integración hemisférica en curso, la necesidad de definir una estrategia de posicionamiento, la importancia de la agricultura en las economías en los países y los desafíos principales que enfrenta de cara al futuro, constituyen los puntos centrales de esta visión tecnopolítica.Se incluye la relatoría del Foro Ministerial la Agricultura de las Américas hacia el Siglo XXI, en el cual los titulares de los ministerios de agricultura de los Países Miembros del Sistema Interamericano realizaron una deliberación sobre los desafíos, retos que enfrenta el sector a las puertas de un nuevo milenio, así como sobre orientaciones de política para enfrentarlos.

The technopolitical vision is presented that collects the most relevant messages presented in the official speeches during the inaugural session of the VIII JIA. The issues on the role of agriculture in the ongoing hemispheric integration process, the need to define a positioning strategy, the importance of agriculture in the economies of the countries, and the main challenges it faces for the future, constitute the central points of this technopolitical vision, including the report of the Ministerial Forum on Agriculture of the Americas towards the XXI Century, in which the heads of the ministries of agriculture of the Member Countries of the Inter-American System held a discussion on the challenges, challenges that confronts the sector at the gates of a new millennium, as well as on policy orientations to confront them.
