Este informe que parte del reconocimiento que los alimentos, la actividad agrícola, los recursos naturales, el ambiente y la vida rural son hilos fundamentales en el tejido del bienestar y el desarrollo de las naciones. Son parte esencial de la cotidianidad que suministran la nutrición familiar, aseguran la salud, fomentan el progreso y posibilitan la conversión de oportunidades en desarrollo concreto. Por lo tanto, el esquema reconoce que para poder apreciar la real contribución de la agricultura y la vida rural al desarrollo nacional es necesario trascender los indicadores tradicionales y recurrir a instrumentos que reflejen mejor esas interrelaciones. Asímismo, analiza la situación de la agriculura y la vida rural y principales desafíos a enfrentar. También se incluye un apéndice de indicadores y referentes estadísticos, con información por países y regiones, elaborado por el IICA |

This report is based on the recognition that food, agricultural activity, natural resources, the environment and rural life are fundamental threads in the fabric of the well-being and development of nations. They are an essential part of daily life that provide family nutrition, ensure health, promote progress and enable the conversion of opportunities into concrete development. Therefore, the scheme recognizes that in order to appreciate the real contribution of agriculture and rural life to national development, it is necessary to go beyond traditional indicators and resort to instruments that better reflect these interrelationships. Likewise, it analyzes the situation of agriculture and rural life and the main challenges to face. An appendix of indicators and statistical references is also included, with information by countries and regions, prepared by IICA. |
