Se diseño un modelo determinístico de simulación del sistema de producción de leche para evaluar el efecto bioeconómico del peso corporal, producción de leche por lactancia y tenor de grasa láctea. Se usaron 3 niveles para cada una de las variables mencionadas. La reproducción, precocidad, mortalidad y disponibilidad de alimento se mantuvieron a un nivel fijo. Para el componente económico se consideraron 3 niveles de precios del alimento y 3 relaciones de precios carne/leche. Se evaluaron todas las combinaciones de las variables biológicas entre sí y con las condiciones de precios. Las variables de respuesta biológica fueron: tamaño del hato, producción de carne y leche por hato-año. Las variables de respuesta económica fueron: costo del capital invertido en semovientes, ingreso bruto y la relación ingreso bruto/costos parciales por hato-año. El peso corporal afectó negativamente todas las variables de respuesta biológica y económica, excepto la producción de carne por hato-año que fue afectada positivamente. La producción de leche por lactancia afectó positivamente todas las variables de respuesta económica y la producción de leche por hato-año. El efecto sobre el tamaño del hato y la producción de carne por hato-año fue negativa. El tenor de grasa láctea afectó negativamente todas las variables de respuesta biológica y el costo del capital invertido en semovientes. Al efecto sobre el ingreso bruto y la relación ingreso bruto/costos parciales fue positivo. La magnitud del efecto del peso corporal sobre la respuesta biológica fue similar al efecto del nivel de producción de leche por lactancia peso de sentido opuesto. El efecto del tenor de grasa láctea fue menor. La respuesta económica fue afectada principalmente por el peso corporal. La importancia del efecto de la producción de leche por lactancia y del tenor de grasa láctea dependió del precio del alimento. |

A system of dairy production was simulated, using a deterministic model, to evaluate the effects of body weight, level of lactation milk production and percent milk fat on the biological and economic outcome of a dairy herd enterprise.Three levels of each of these three variables were used, whereas fixed levels of reproduction, age at first calving, mortality and feed availability were included in the model. For the economical calculations three feed prices and three ratios of beef/milk prices were included. All factorial combinations of biological and economic factors were calculated.<br/>Output responses of the biological variables included; herd size, production of beef and milk on a hear-year basis. Economic outputs were calculated as; costs of capital invested in animals, gross income, and the relation gross income/partial costs bases on a herd-year.<br/>Bodyweight negatively affected all the biological and economic outputs with the exception of beef production per herd-year (which was affected positively). Lactation milk yield positively affected all the economic indicators and also milk production per her-year. Lactation yield negatively affected herd size and beef production per herd-year. Milk fat percentage negatively affected all the biological indicators as well as the cost of capital invested in animals, whereas percentage of milk fat positively affected gross-income and gross-partial costs.<br/>The magnitude of the effect of bodyweight on a biological indicators was similar to that of lactation yield, although in opposing directions. The effect of milk fat was considerably less.<br/>The economic indicators were affected principally by bodyweight (negative). The economic responses of lactation milk yield and milk fat percentage varied with feed costs. |
