Esta edición del documento “Perspectivas de la agricultura y del desarrollo rural en las Américas (2015-2016)” se divide, de conformidad con la estructura de los cinco informes anteriores, en los siguientes cuatro capítulos: Capítulo I: Contexto macroeconómico: Se analizan la evolución y las perspectivas de los mercados financieros y macroeconómicos, los cuales determinan el contexto en el que se desenvolverá la agricultura de las Américas.Capítulo II: Contexto sectorial y agricultura: Se inicia con un análisis de las tendencias de los principales agregados agrícolas de la región (contexto sectorial); posteriormente se detallan las tendencias y las perspectivas de los sectores de la agricultura, la ganadería, la pesca y los bosques. Capítulo III: Bienestar rural: A partir de los datos de encuestas de hogares de doce países de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC), se analiza la situación de los jóvenes y las mujeres rurales en los mercados de trabajo y en el acceso a activos, así como la equidad de ingresos en el medio rural. Capítulo IV: Políticas e institucionalidad: Se realiza un repaso de los principales cambios que han tenido lugar en las políticas y la institucionalidad pública de la agricultura, tanto de ALC como de sus principales socios comerciales, y se reseñan los retos de la región para el logro de una agricultura más competitiva, sostenible y equitativa. |

This edition of the document “Outlook for agriculture and rural development in the Americas (2015-2016)” is divided, in accordance with the structure of the five previous reports, into the following four chapters: Chapter I: Macroeconomic context: They are analyzed the evolution and prospects of financial and macroeconomic markets, which determine the context in which agriculture in the Americas will develop.Chapter II: Sectoral context and agriculture: It begins with an analysis of the trends of the main agricultural aggregates of the region (sector context); The trends and prospects for the agriculture, livestock, fisheries and forestry sectors are then detailed. Chapter III: Rural well-being: Based on household survey data from twelve Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries, the situation of rural youth and women in labor markets and access to assets is analyzed , as well as income equity in rural areas. Chapter IV: Policies and Institutionality: A review is made of the main changes that have taken place in the policies and public institutions of agriculture, both in LAC and its main trading partners, and outlines the challenges of the region for the achievement of a more competitive, sustainable and equitable agriculture. |
