This report presents five regression equations that study the relationships of crown characteristics and diameter at breast height (DAP) for Pinus oocarpa, Schiede, en Siguatepeque, Honduras. The first two equations predict DAP, one using crown diameter (D. COPA) and total tree height (A ), and the other using DAP only. A simple linear regression, having DAP as the only independent variable, was used to estimate D. COPA. The last two equations estimate crown length (L. COPA) using first DAP, A and length of clean bole (A. COPA), and then D. COPA, A. and A. COPA. All equations are significant at the 1.00%. |

Este informe presenta cinco ecuaciones de regresión que estudian las relaciones de las características de la copa y el diámetro a la altura del pecho (DAP) para Pinus oocarpa, Schiede, en Siguatepeque, Honduras. Las dos primeras ecuaciones predicen el DAP, una usando el diámetro de la copa (D. COPA) y la altura total del árbol (A ), y la otra usando solamente el DAP. Para estimar el D. COPA se utilizó una regresión lineal simple, con el DAP como única variable independiente. Las dos últimas ecuaciones estiman la longitud de la copa (L. COPA) utilizando primero DAP, A y la longitud del fuste limpio (A. COPA), y luego D. COPA, A. y A. COPA. Todas las ecuaciones son significativas al 1,00%. |
