En ensayos de especies forestales nativas en la Zona Huetar Norte de Costa Rica, se realizó un diagnóstico de insectos herbívoros. Las especies evaluadas fueron: Hyeronima alchornoides, Laetia procera, Pithecellobium elegans, Pithecellobium macradenium, Stryphnodendrum microstachyum, Virola koschnyi, Terminalia amazonia, Vochysia ferruginea, Vochysia guatemalensis y Zanthoxylum mayanum. Fueron diagnosticadas las siguientes especies insectiles, todas ellas defoliadoras: Achyloides bursirus (Hesperiidae), Atta cephalotes (Formicidae), Crematogaster sp. (Formicidae), Exophthalmus sp. (Curculionidae), Hylesia alinda (Saturniidae), Papilio anchisiades idaeus (Papilionidae), Trigona sp. (Apidae).y una especie de Pyralidae no identificada. |

In native species trials in the North Huetar Zone of Costa Rica, a diagnosis of herbivorous insects was made. The tested species were: Hyeronima alchomoides, Laetia procera, Pithecellobium elegans, Pithecellobium macradenium, Stryphnodendrum microstachyum, Virola koschnyi, Terminalia amazonia, Vochysia ferruginea, Vochysia guatemalensis and Zanthoxylum mayanum Standley. The lollowing insects, all of them deloliators, were diagnosed: Achyloides bursirus (Hesperiidae), Atta cephalotes (Formicidae), Crematogaster sp. (Formicidae), Exophthalmus sp. (Curculionidae), Hylesia alinda (Saturniidae), Papilio anchisiades idaeus (Papilionidae), Trigona sp. (Apidae), and an unidentified species of Pyralidae. |
