Este documento resume el contenido más relevante de la publicación: Perspectivas de la agricultura y del desarrollo rural en las Américas: una mirada hacia América Latina y el Caribe 2013, el cual aporta información actualizada y análisis, tanto de la coyuntura reciente del sector agroalimentario y su contexto, como de las perspectivas que se vislumbran para el 2013. Es este un esfuerzo conjunto que desarrollamos por cuarto año consecutivo la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), la Oficina Regional para América Latina y el Caribe de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) y el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA). El capítulo especial de este año está dedicado al tema de la tenencia de la tierra en América Latina y el Caribe. Allí se analizan las tendencias recientes en cuanto a políticas de tierras, procesos de cambio estructural y retos pendientes, tales como la titularización, que sigue siendo precaria en muchos países de la región. |

This document summarizes the most relevant content of the publication: Perspectives of agriculture and rural development in the Americas: a look at Latin America and the Caribbean 2013, which provides updated information and analysis, both of the recent situation of the agri-food sector and its context, as well as the prospects looming for 2013. This is a joint effort that we are developing for the fourth consecutive year by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Organization of the United Nations for Food and Agriculture (FAO) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). This year's special chapter is dedicated to the topic of land tenure in Latin America and the Caribbean. There, recent trends in land policies, structural change processes, and pending challenges, such as securitization, which continues to be precarious in many countries in the region, are analyzed. |
