El trabajo propone primero la conveniencia de distinguir entre tres grandes clases o responsabilidades de investigación agropecuaria, denominadas estómagos. Las bases para la distinción es que los tres difieren entre sí en términos de objetivos, metodologías, estilos de trabajo, clientelas, intereses profesionales y tipos de investigadores. Se propone que la distinción puede ayudar a racionalizar la gestión de la investigación al estructurar las oportunidades, los controles, y las recompensas conforme a los requerimientos y motivaciones de cada tipo de trabajo. Segundo, el análisis considera el tema de las interrelaciones entre los tres estómagos y los retos que le significará a la entidad de investigación, lograr un equilibrio satisfactorio entre ellos. Tercero, examina la cuestión de cuando los tres estómagos tenderán a organizarse en estructuras administrativas (unidades) separadas. Por último, se trata el tema del control de la investigación por sus usuarios en cada estómago. (MIBA) |
