En 1975, después de una revisión de la literatura disponible y entrevistas con los funcionarios y algunos especialistas, en 1976 y 1977, se realizó una serie de investigaciones a nivel de campo en las principales zonas productoras /Cibao, Baní y Barahona), entrevistando a productores, intermediarios y a exportadores. En este trabajo se presentan la identificación y descripción de los principales intermediarios en localización geográfica y su importancia relativa; identificación de los principales problemas en el sistema de mercadeo interno del café; recomendaciones en la metodología de la investigación dentro del sistema de mercadeo con miras a beneficiar a los pequeños productores; así como la identificación de las áreas potenciales de mejoramiento del sistema de mercadeo en favor de los mismos. |
