En el presente manual se busca proveer al personal técnico involucrado en el monitoreo forestal de información útil para la toma de decisiones para la construcción de niveles de referencia para REDD+. Se presentan siete pasos; 1. Escogencia del marco metodológico, 2. Selección de actividades REDD+ a incluirse en el nivel de referencia, 3. Escogencia de métodos para la estimación de cambios en las reservas de carbono en los bosques, 4. Mapeando el uso y cobertura de la tierra para establecer un punto de referencia, 5. Análisis de cambios históricos de los usos del suelo, 6. Proyección de la deforestación a futuro, 7. Estimación de las emisiones y remociones de CO2 todos con el fin de exponer información relevante y congruente con los requerimientos de la CMNUCC y compatible con los procesos metodológicos del Fondo Cooperativo de Carbono Forestal (FCPF) y el Estándar Verificado de Carbono (VCS). |
