La presente investigación analizó los costos e ingresos de las actividades agropecuarias en 2011 de 14 familias productoras en los municipios de El Cuá, Waslala, Muy Muy y Matiguas, Nicaragua. El ingreso neto, beneficio familiar y flujo neto por finca resultaron positivos para las 14 familias, siendo las familias con mayores áreas en usos ganaderos y caficultura las que obtuvieron los ingresos más altos. Los indicadores "ingreso neto sin tomar en cuenta el cambio del valor del inventario ganadero y de animales de patio" y "flujo neto" por mes indican que solamente en 7 de las 14 familias los miembros que trabajan en la finca logran ganarse un monto superior al salario de un trabajador de fincas agropecuarias, que es aproximadamente de C$2.700 por mes. La distribución del trabajo en las familias está relacionada en gran parte con las costumbres, siendo las mujeres generalmente las encargadas y responsables de realizar las labores reproductivas y los varones de realizar las productivas. |

This study analyses costs and revenues of agricultural activities in 2011 of 14 farm families in the municipalities of El Cuá, Waslala, Muy Muy and Matiguas, Nicaragua. Net income, family benefit and net cash flow per farm were positive for all 14 families, with families with larger areas dedicated to coffee and livestock obtaining the highest incomes. The indicators: "net income without taking into account the change in value of all farm animals" and "cash flow" per month, indicate that only on 7 of the 14 farm studied, the family members who work on farms to earn a higher wage tan an agricultural farm laborer, who earn approximately C$2.700 per month. The division of activities in the families is related largely part to habits, with women generally and responsible for performing reproductive activities and men productive activities. Decisions involving large amounts of money are usually taken by men, while decisions that involve lesser amounts are also taken by women, however, it should be stressed that important differences exists between families. Decision making is related: the amount of money involved, habits, direct participation in the activity, property rights and knowledge of transactions involved. |
