El aumento en el consumo y demanda de la teca a nivel mundial, principalmente en la India, están generando un interés creciente en la identificación de prácticas de manejo y de mejoramiento genético para incrementar los rendimientos de dicha especie. No obstante lo anterior en el ámbito comercial, los mecanismos de negociación de la madera de teca han sido un tema menos estudiado en particular cuando estos procesos comerciales involucran pequeños productores. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el funcionamiento del canal de comercialización de teca proveniente de Hojancha y Nandayure. Para ello, primero se realizó una caracterización de la red de comercialización y sus actores, el rol que cumplen los actores que la componen y las variables que inciden en el posicionamiento de dichos actores en esta red de comercialización. Segundo, se analizaron los márgenes de comercialización de acuerdo a los canales identificados, y los ingresos netos de los productores que realizaron corta final. Los resultados permitieron identificar las oportunidades y los desafíos que tienen los productores dedicados a esta actividad económica. Finalmente, se concluye que la falta de acceso a la información de los productores sobre el mercado de la teca es una de múltiples barreras que enfrentan y la principal desventaja frente a intermediarios y exportadores. La red de comercialización es altamente desarticulada y unos pocos actores son los que tienen el poder de negociación; existe alta intermediación y son pocas las oportunidades que tienen los productores para acceder a directamente al mercado; los productores desconocen los mecanismos de medición y es clara la necesidad que tienen de vender en forma anticipada su producción a una edad temprana. Todo ello afecta los ingresos netos de los productores, a pesar de que es el cultivo de la teca es, aun en estas condiciones, una actividad rentable. |

This thesis, aims to analyze the marketing chain of teak from Hojancha and Nandayure. To do this, first it was necessary to perform a characterization of the marketing network and its actors, the role played by them, and the variables that affect the positioning of these actors in the network marketing. Then, we analyzed the marketing margins according to the channels identified, and net income of the producers who made final cut of the teak. The results allowed the opportunities and challenges facing producers dedicates to this activity. Finally, we conclude that the lack of access to information of small teak producers is one of many barriers they face and the main disadvantage to brokers and exporters. The marketing network is highly disorganized and a few of its actors are those who have the bargaining power, also there is a high intermediation in this activity. The producers don't know measuring mechanisms and they need to sell their wood an early age because their necessity of money. |
