Summary, etc	Con el creciente impacto de las actividades agrícolas sobre los remanentes de vegetación natural, ha aumentado la importancia de ampliar el valor de todo el agropaisaje para la conservación de la biodiversidad silvestre. En este sentido, los sistemas silvopastoriles (SPP), cuyos impactos negativos sobre el medio ambiente pueden ser reducidos, son una alternativa técnica a la ganadería convencional. Este estudio tiene como objetivos: i) evaluar, a través de un índice compuesto, el aporte a la conservación de la biodiversidad de SSP manejados por diferentes tipos de productores y ii) identificar las restricciones y posibles incentivos para que diferentes productores aumenten la implementación de SSP favorables a la conservación de la biodiversidad. A partir de 101 entrevistas socioeconómicas realizadas a productores ganaderos, se identificaron tres diferentes grupos de ganaderos según el número de unidades animales que poseen. Fueron seleccionadas, al azar, nueve fincas de cada grupo para realizar la caracterización de las cercas vivas, los árboles en potreros y los bosques de pino con pastoreo presentes en sus propiedades y calcular su valor para la conservación.

Summary, etc	With the increasing impact of agricultural activities on remnants of natural vegetation, the importance of increasing the value of the entire landscape for wild biodiversity conservation has been gaining further attention. In this sense, negative environmental impacts can be reduced through the use of silvopastoral systems (SPS), a technical alternative to conventional cattle ranching. The two main objectives of this study are:i)to evaluate, through a compound index, the contribution of SPS to biodiversity conservation in different types of cattle production systems and ii) to identify the restrictions and possible incentives that can favour farmers to establish SPS with greater potential to conserve biodiversity. From 101 socioeconomics interviews of cattle producers, three different groups were identified based on the number of animal's units they have. Nine ranches from each group were selected randomly. Live fences, pastures with trees and grazed pine forests were characterized on each ranch to calculate their value to biodiversity conservation.
