La presente investigación fue desarrollada con el propósito de contribuir al conocimiento del manejo sostenible y participativo de las microcuencas rurales de Honduras, principalmente para el manejo del recurso agua. La metodología propuesta se basa en el estudio de caso de la microcuenca Quebrada Seca ubicada en el municipio de Catacamas, departamento de Olancho, Honduras. Esta microcuenca abastece de agua a unas 390 familias, que en verano tienen problemas de escasez debido al poco caudal disponible. El estudio se desarrolló mediante información recolectada en tres diferentes niveles: información secundaria, información primaria directa e información primaria indirecta. La propuesta consta de cinco pasos principales: 1) definición de la función del servicio hídrico; 2) recolección y sistematización de la información (microcuenca, oferta y demanda); 3) definición de los ámbitos y construcción del modelo de pago por servicio ambiental hídrico (PSAH); 4) puesta en práctica del proyecto de PSAH; 5) seguimiento y evaluación.<br/> |

This study pretends to provide new information about sustainable and participative<br/>management of rural micro-watersheds in Honduras, especially that related to water management. A methodology was developed basing on a case study: micro-watershed<br/>Quebrada Seca, Olancho department, Honduras. This micro-watershed provides water to 390<br/>families who, during the dry season, suffer from water scarcity. Information was gathered in three levels: secondary information, direct and indirect primary information. The proposal comprises five steps: 1) definition of water services; 2) gathering and analysis of information (micro-watershed, supply and demand); 3) definition of sceneries and development of a model for the determination of water payment, as an environmental service; 4) project’s execution; 5) follow up and evaluation.<br/> |
