El objetivo de esta investigación es elicitar las preferencias orgánicas de los consumidores Costarricenses en la comercialización y consumo de vegetales, a fin de proporcionar información al productor y a los demás agentes de la cadena acerca de los requerimientos específicos de este mercado. De esta manera, se espera colaborar con el fortalecimiento del mercado local de vegetales orgánicos en el país, como alternativa para lograr una producción de alimentos estable y suficiente, a la vez que se preserven los recursos naturales. En síntesis, se cumplen las hipótesis planteadas en el estudio. Pudiéndose inferir así, que: El consumo de vegetales orgánicos está condicionado por la competencia de productos similares con ventajas en su "Apariencia" y precio. Existen diferencias entre la utilidad por consumo de vegetales orgánicos y convencionales. La educación influye en la decisión del consumo de productos orgánicos. |

The objective of this investigation is to elicit the preferences of Costa Rican consumes for organic and ecologically healthy vegetables, in order to provide information to the producer and to the other agents in the vegetable marketing chain. In providing this information the study attempts to support the local market for organic, healthy, and ecologically safe produce and to correspondingly support small-scale agriculture which preserves natural resources. |
