Summary, etc El trabajo se estructura como sigue, en la sección 1 se discute la protección técnica y se describen las posibles modalidades de propiedad intelectual más usuales en relación con los productos generados por los INIAs (principalmente líneas y variedades vegetales), en la sección 2 se presentan las principales instituciones y acuerdos internacionales que rigen la propiedad intelectual en relación con productos y procesos de aplicación en la agricutura; la sección 3 examina los acuerdos regionales, incluyendo negociaciones en curso en el ámbito del ALCA, en tanto en la sección 4, señala en materia de adquisición e intercambio de recursos genéticos, las principales negociaciones en curso y la situación de los Centros del CGIAR; en la sección 5 se discute la protección de los recursos biológicos, indicándose las tendencias en los países industrializados y las diferencias entre el sistema de patentes y el de derecho de obtentor. En las secciones 6 y 7 se tratan, respectivamente los regímenes de patentes y de derechos de obtentor en los países del PROCISUR. Los temas vinculados con la definición de políticas y la gestión de la propiedad intelectual en los INIAs se examinan en la sección 8. La sección 9, para terminar, contiene las principales conclusiones del estudio.
