A guideline for mango production in the Caribbean Report - Port-of-Spain (Trinidad y Tobago) 1992 - p. 59-62 - Miscellaneous Publications A2/TT (IICA) no. 92-03 0253-4746 .

The purpose of this guidelines is to highlight the technologies and agricultural practices which will allow reliable production of fresh fruit of high quality for export. It presents the selection of planting site; pre-planting operations; varieties/cultivars: commercial production, and cultivars. There are two groups of mango cultivars, the Indian types producing one seedling per seed (monoembryonic) and the Indo-Chinese producing more than one seedling per seed (poly-embryonic). The important commercial cultivars of the Windward Islands are: Julie, Graham Imperial, Mango Long, Mango Palai, and Florida cultivars. Then, it reports orchard planning, planting, care of the young orchard, care of the bearing orchard, nutrition, harvesting and major pests diseases: fruit flies, mango seed weevil, scale insects, slugs, mealy bugs, thrips and anthracnose.
