The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) participated in the implementation of the digital transformation project for agriculture with Agriterra and the funds from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project aimed to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and the subsequent crisis by developing digital solutions that allow better internal management and access to markets and financing. The IICA provided virtual training to members of producer organizations on digital marketing and digital applications for commercialization. The IICA also developed the AgriExt mobile application, which aims to improve interaction and information exchange between extension agents and farmers, and facilitate access to priority information to address farmers' problems. Additionally, the IICA strengthened the capacity of agricultural goods and services providers through training sessions and consultations to increase the productivity of small farmers in certain departments of Haiti. El Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) participó en la implementación del proyecto de transformación digital para la agricultura con Agriterra y los fondos del Fondo Internacional de Desarrollo Agrícola (FIDA). El proyecto tuvo como objetivo mitigar el impacto del COVID-19 y la crisis posterior mediante el desarrollo de soluciones digitales que permitan una mejor gestión interna y acceso a mercados y financiamiento. El IICA brindó capacitación virtual a miembros de organizaciones de productores sobre marketing digital y aplicaciones digitales para la comercialización. El IICA también desarrolló la aplicación móvil AgriExt, que tiene como objetivo mejorar la interacción y el intercambio de información entre los extensionistas y los agricultores, y facilitar el acceso a información prioritaria para atender los problemas de los agricultores. Adicionalmente, el IICA fortaleció la capacidad de los proveedores de bienes y servicios agrícolas a través de capacitaciones y consultas para incrementar la productividad de los pequeños agricultores en ciertos departamentos de Haití.
