Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Uruguay durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo sectores como el desarrollo sostenible, la ganadería de campo, la bioeconomía, la apicultura, la sanidad e inocuidad, el control de plagas y la resistencia antimicrobiana. Asimismo, se contribuyó en la mejora de las buenas prácticas agrícolas, en la atención al cambio climático y en la comercialización de la ganadería familiar. Finalmente, se capacitó a las mujeres rurales y se establecieron interacciones entre instancias políticas, públicas y privadas, así como una internacionalización de las pymes agrícolas. The main activities carried out by the Institute in Uruguay during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening sectors such as sustainable development, field livestock, bioeconomy, beekeeping, health and safety, control of pests and antimicrobial resistance. Likewise, it contributed to the improvement of good agricultural practices, attention to climate change and the commercialization of family livestock. Finally, rural women were trained and interactions were established between political, public and private entities, as well as an internationalization of agricultural SMEs.
