The main activities carried out by the Institute in Trinidad and Tobago during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening sustainable food production systems, exchange between public and private companies, the cocoa industry, cassava and citrus fruits and good agricultural practices, such as health and food safety (SAIA). Provided technical assistance for the development of risk management and response capacity, on issues such as floods. Finally, work was done on pest control, sustainability and profitability of agriculture, as well as promoting the development of agribusiness. Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Trinidad y Tobago durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo los sistemas de producción de alimentos sostenibles, el intercambio entre las empresas públicas y privadas, la industria del cacao la yuca y los cítricos y las buenas prácticas agrícolas, como la sanidad e inocuidad de los alimentos (SAIA). Brindó asistencia técnica para el desarrollo de la capacidad de gestión y de respuesta ante riesgos, en temas como las inundaciones. Finalmente, se trabajo en el control de plagas, sostenibilidad y rentabilidad de la agricultura, así como impulso al desarrollo de agronegocios.
